Ellie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Oregon. Some of her areas of expertise include depression and anxiety, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, women’s issues, relationship issues, parent-child conflicts, domestic violence, hoarding disorder, PTSD and trauma, self-harm and suicidal ideation, attachment issues, eating disorders, self-esteem and body image issues, grief and loss, life transitions, and integrative medicine for mental health. Ellie utilizes a strengths-based, non-judgmental, supportive and interactive therapeutic style, drawing from a combination of several modalities to tailor treatment to meet the specific needs of each individual client.
Ellie strives to create a warm, approachable, and safe environment in which clients feel heard, understood, and empowered exploring and addressing issues in therapy, while cultivating self-awareness and healthy coping skills as they embark upon the journey of self-discovery. Ellie works to build a caring, authentic, and collaborative client-therapist relationship, and fostering and nurturing the therapeutic alliance is the catalyst and essential tool for achieving and experiencing positive, lasting change in their relationships and lives.
In her practice, Ellie has successfully helped clients identify and reach their goals and aspirations, find more meaning and purpose and effectively cope with challenging emotions, stress, and adversity. She believes in the healing and change that therapy can bring people, and believes in the power of tapping into the creative and deeper part of self that allows opportunity for individuals to develop a better sense of who they are and process inner conflicts they may be experiencing. Ellie believes each person is the best expert of his or her own lives, and each individual brings a unique set of strengths that often go untapped. With proper identification of the problem, uncovering the root of destructive patterns of behavior and thought, gaining insight and education, clients often become “unstuck” and are able to gain momentum to move forward with a sense of purpose and direction, and ultimately bringing new hope for a better quality of life.
